I’ve Been Where You Are
I have had battles with food, health, and weight throughout my life and tried numerous diets and exercise regimes over the years. I had successes with some, but they were only short lived, and I continued to struggle with my health and weight. Does this sound similar to your story?
I was working in an industry that was known to be unhealthy, so I bit the bullet, changed careers, and committed myself to undergoing bariatric surgery. The surgery was a success, but I found that once I got home, I was unsure of what to eat, how much to eat, and how often I should eat. The information I received was contradictory, confusing, and it took me a long time (and many tears) to come up with what I needed to back-up the surgery with food and exercise that would keep me healthy long term. With all the knowledge I’ve gained, I’m here to support you on your journey to ensure you too succeed in becoming the best version of yourself.
Wanting Answers
I discovered when undergoing bariatric surgery in 2017 that there were very few options out there for people who need nutritional assistance. It was my inadequate nutritional knowledge that drove me to seek realistic answers. Now with a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetic Medicine, and a combined 6 years of college/university education I have amassed resources and experience to assist you on your journey. I am constantly updating and increasing my nutritional and dietetic knowledge through seminars, publications, associations and furthered education.

My Journey - Re-Learning to Eat
Due to the size of my stomach after surgery, I had to learn to eat more regularly and have smaller portion sizes which both nourish me and helped to heal my body. Food as medicine is powerful and the easiest way to make changes to a healthier lifestyle. I learnt the hard way that wrong choices can set progress back and diminish self-esteem, but it has also provided me all the knowledge I can share with you to help you succeed.
The Right Mindset
It won’t be an easy journey, trust me, I know! It’s going to take work in creating not only a healthy body but a healthy mindset and I’m here to be your sounding board along your journey. I can guide you through the difficult times and provide positive encouragement to give you the outcome you want for yourself.
My Drive
During my own personal gastric sleeve journey, I had a great surgeon and met my desired outcomes, although this was not without obvious gaps in patient education. This experience is what drove me to learn as much as I could through formal nutritional and lifestyle training enabling me to share my knowledge with others who are on their journey to a healthier future.
